Dr. Gökmen Zararsız
Gökmen Zararsız is an associate professor in Department of Biostatistics of Erciyes University School of Medicine. He is the leader of Personelized Medicine and Advanced Analytics' research group and working on development and application of computational algorithms and software in biomedical sciences. His research mostly focuses on biostatistics, bioinformatics, machine learning, statistical methods in diagnostic assays, genomics and transcriptomics.

Post Doc Researcher / Dr. Necla Kayaalp Koçhan
Necla Kayaalp Koçhan graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Izmir University of Economics in 2010. After that, she did a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Her Ph.D. thesis “A new RNA-Seq data classifier based on quantile transformation” was supervised by Prof. Dr. G.Y. Tütüncü. With the scholarship she got from “The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey”, she joined Smyth lab for 8 months as a visiting scientist. She worked in a COVID19 project as a postdoctoral researcher for 8 months in 2020. Her research interests are computational biology, statistical data analysis, fuzzy theory, classification and biostatistics.

Post Doc Researcher / Dr. Leila Kianmehr
Leila Kianmehr completed her PhD in genetics and epigenetics from Nice Sophia Antipolis University, Nice, France and Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran in 2019. She started her journey in bioinformatics during PhD, when she was focused on unravelling RNA-mediated epigenetics mechanisms in development. She continued her research as a postdoc and lecturer in 2020 at Shahid Beheshti University. She joined Genome and Stem Cell Institute (Genkok), Erciyes University in Turkey as a postdoc researcher in 2023. Her research is based on understanding gene expression regulation in disease and development utilizing transcriptomics and molecular biology.

PhD / Dr. Esma Gamze Aksel
Esma Gamze Aksel graduated from Selcuk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. In 2012, she was appointed as a research assistant to Erciyes University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Genetics. In 2013,she started her second PhD program in the Department of Animal Science. In 2019, she submitted her PhD thesis. She started her master's degree in Medical Biostatistics in February 2021. Areas of interest; biostatistics, bioinformatics.

PhD / Dr. Ahu Cephe
Ahu Cephe completed her undergraduate education at Hacettepe University, Department of Statistics, and her master's degree at Erciyes University, Department of Biostatistics. She is currently continuing her doctoral education at Hacettepe University, Department of Biostatistics. She also works as a lecturer at Erciyes University. Her studies are mostly in the fields of biostatistics, bioinformatics and bibliometrics.

Funda is going on her masters in Biostatistics at Erciyes University. Her research work focused on statistical analysis of high-throughput metabolomics data. In her masters thesis she works on the performance assessment of different approaches for integrating multi-omics data. In PMAA group, Funda currently works for the ‘Combining Diagnostic Tests Using Multicenter Cohort Data’.

PhD Student / İlayda Yerlitaş
İlayda (1998, Kayseri/Turkey) completed her undergraduate education at Erciyes University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics. She is continuing her master's degree at Erciyes University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biostatistics. She is currently working as a research assistant at Erciyes University. She supports the studies in the "Personalized Medicine and Advanced Analytics" research group within the Erciyes University Pharmaceutical Research and Application Center. Her research focuses mainly on biostatistics, bioinformatics, machine learning, statistical methods in diagnostic tests, and topological spaces.

PhD Student / Meltem Ünlüsavuran Sönmez
Meltem Sönmez graduated from the Department of Bioengineering at Firat University. She completed her master's degree in Biostatistics at Erciyes University, focusing her thesis on investigating the effectiveness of automated machine learning methods in analyzing omics data. With four years of experience as a data scientist in ING Bank's business development team, she currently serves as a research assistant at Erciyes University. She is continuing her education in the doctoral program of the Biostatistics department at Erciyes University.

PhD Student / Cem Sönmez
Cem Sönmez graduated from Süleyman Demirel University, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. He did his master's degree in Biostatistics at Erciyes University and his thesis focused on developing a cloud-based software for the compositions of foods specific to Turkey. For three years, he was involved in the development of cloud-based statistical software in TURCOSA project. He is currently continuing her education at Erciyes University, Department of Biostatistics, PhD program.

Mert Necip Kuzucular was born in 1998. He attended primary school at TED Kayseri College. He graduated from high school in Nursing. He went to Poland in 2015 with the ERASMUS + Project. He did his internship at the Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny we Wrocławiu hospital. Graduated from Nuh Naci Yazgan University, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2021. Then he started his master's degree with a thesis in the department of nutrition and dietetics. He continues his research on artificial intelligence applications in nutrition and dietetics.

Dilek Taylı is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Abdullah Gül University and eager to expand knowledge and skills in diverse fields including machine learning, data science, and computer science.
